Scars

Here's a nice sentiment I recently read:

Mike used to say that scars were cool (Lord knows he had a few scars caused by cancer -- scars that were both physical and emotional).

I'll second that motion.  I have my scars, but they're the result of loving someone with my whole heart.  I can't say they're cool, but I did survive the cause of those scars.  I will wear them with pride because I have to, and because I am living proof that my scars didn't hold me hostage in an emotional hell.  I clawed my way back to the land of the living, and loving, and I continue to claw my way forward.

Maybe scars are cool.....
